Monika Oli, Ph.D., MSE, PMP

Dr. Oli’s scientific background spans a variety of fields in the biological sciences, including microbiology, infectious diseases and cell and molecular biology, diagnostic devices and therapeutics. Over the last 5 years, she has worked for biotech startup companies, transferring novel technology from the research lab to newly founded companies, managing and directing all aspects of R&D. Dr. Oli has significant experience drafting and prosecuting IP and holds more than 20 U.S and International patents for her biomarker work. She has published > 25 peer-reviewed papers. During her tenure in biotech startups she has successfully obtained grant funding, including SBIR phase I and II grants and was instrumental in receiving congressional funds, all totaling > $10 million. Dr. Oli received her Masters of Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida, her PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an MSc from Mississippi State University and she holds a bachelors degree from the University of Edinburgh, UK. Dr. Oli is also a certified project manager (PMP). Dr. Oli partners with client companies in the areas of: - Developing and evaluating commercialization potential of ideas and products
- Aiding in preparation and administration of grants to support commercialization
- Assisting in preparation and filing invention disclosures and patents
- Developing and implementing a project plan to define and confirm key experiments
- Defining, negotiating and contracting external work
- Assisting in developing and supporting translational and clinical research
- Assimilating pre-due diligence package
