Mead McCabe, Ph.D.

Dr. McCabe's background includes 27 years on the faculty of the University of Miami School of Medicine, where his research interests centered on the molecular biology of microbial diseases. He is the inventor of ultra-sensitive methods for purifying and measuring nucleic acids and is co-inventor of chromatographic separation processes for the purification of human alpha interferon. Dr. McCabe was the founder and Chairman of Genetic Vectors, Inc., a genomics company located in Miami, Florida. He has served as a consultant on numerous occasions for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including four years as a member of the Oral Biology and Medicine Study Section. He holds numerous U.S. and international patents. Dr. McCabe received his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Miami after earning an undergraduate degree in Zoology from Pennsylvania State University. He is the founder and CEO of GeneEx, Inc., a biomedical company involved in the development of interventional and predictive diagnostics. |
