AxoGen is a biomedical company whose products will allow surgeons to repair and regenerate peripheral nerves more successfully, bringing relief and restoring functionality to the more than 2 million people who suffer serious peripheral nerve damage worldwide. Today patients who sustain peripheral nerve injury are often left untreated, due to the lack of viable treatment alternatives. Those who do undergo a surgical procedure often show no post-surgical improvement, and even those who are considered a success show no more than a 70% return of function. AxoGen's products are expected to change this paradigm by promoting natural nerve regeneration.

AxoGen's products will include allograft nerve conduits for surgical transplantation, using a patent-pending catalytic processing agent which will stimulate nerve cell regeneration. The company will also be seeking approval of the catalytic agent as a nerve activator which can be injected into the nerve canal without grafting, in a quick and minimally invasive procedure that will directly stimulate the regeneration of nerve tissue in the patient's body.

The company's peripheral nerve grafting and nerve regeneration technologies were developed by researchers from the University of Florida's McKnight Brain Institute.
