• a technology or product with high growth potential in the U.S. and international markets;
• the ability to bring the product to market rapidly (under 5 years);
• a principal product that market wants and needs (market pull vs push);
• a monetization/reimbursement model that will not disrupt the current reimbursement paradigm;
• a founding team of proven entrepreneurs and scientists.

The qualities of our partner companies typically include:

• the opportunity to become a leader in their market;
• the possibility of early profitability;
• the presence of dedicated, visionary and motivated founders;
• the recognition of the value of partnering to complement the founders' strengths.

Our partner companies typically need

• assistance in areas outside the core technology before seeking the first outside round of venture financing;
• a modest cash infusion to achieve its pre-venture funding goals.

On occasion our portfolio companies will have raised previous capital from founders, friends, angels or grants prior to or simultaneous with Synogen's involvement, but we typically participate in companies that are very early-stage.
